Very young children should enjoy "reading" the specially selected and retold Old and New Testament stories in this chunky "first Bible". The short yet lively retellings introduce the reader to 60 key stories from the Bible, explaining concepts in terms that a child should understand. The text uses simple vocabulary and is printed in large enough type for able new readers to tackle alone either in class or at home. (Teachers working with three to six year olds have been consulted about the text). Children as yet unable to read should be able to follow the stories by looking at the illustrations.
